From 0 to 100: Obtaining Your First 100 Sales

You’ve established your business. You have a valuable offer, competitive pricing, a professional website, a lead nurture program, and you really understand your customers. Then you start to think…”Okay now what?” and “How do I actually get sales?”.

Our Clients have been there and done that, and we’ve supported them every step of the way! If you’re ready for a stream of incoming sales, keep reading and don’t forget to share with other business owners in your orbit!

Network, Network, Network

Always utilize your own social network! These people already like and trust you (hopefully 😳), which already gives you a head start. They’re already more likely to support your growing business and give you some honest feedback which can help you improve in the long run.

Don’t forget to consider people outside your immediate network. This includes neighbours, friends of friends, your cousin's roommate’s sister. The possibilities are endless.

Tip: Try asking your friends and family to post about your business to their own social networks. This will expand your reach exponentially.

Freebies to Build Your Email List

Everyone loves free stuff, so take advantage of that and offer some irresistible resources (insightful guides, templates, cheat sheets, etc.) in exchange for email addresses. Now you’re growing your email list where you can stay in direct communication with all the people that already expressed interest in your business.

Your own email list is not a “nice to have”, it’s essential. Remember when Meta went down and took Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp with it? Just like that, businesses lost access to their own customers. Don’t put all your eggs in one basket, especially if that basket is named Meta and owns most of the major social networking platforms.

Tip: Make sure you have a solid lead nurture program in place to continue to move your leads through the funnel towards a sale. Learn to nurture your leads like a pro right here.

Meet Your Audience Where They Are

You need to get in front of your target audience as much as possible, whether that be promoting your business at events, in online communities, or wherever you know your audience will be. The best part? The people are already a part of a niche community that would be interested in your business. Not to mention, this is a very low-cost way to promote yourself which is key for small businesses looking to increase their coffee budget.

Tip: Focus on providing value and insight instead of selling. Establish yourself as a trusted source and the sales will follow.

Power Up With Partnerships & PR

If your reach isn’t reaching, creating a partnership or completing PR opportunities can provide you with direct access to a whole new audience. Partnering with other small businesses and micro influencers are great for cross-promotion and easy exposure. Look for opportunities such as  podcasts or guest articles where you can share valuable industry insights while also dropping a little business promo without coming across as too salesy.

Tip: Find another business that makes sense with your brand. Think same target audience, complimentary, but not a competitor.

Let’s Get Social

With a small budget, social media is your best friend! It’s ideal for small businesses because it doesn't have to cost anything (just all of your free time if not done right! 😢). Social media is the perfect platform for you to showcase your business and get in front of the right people with billions of daily users. Use your profile as a way to introduce your brand to the world. Don’t be afraid to show your personality!

Tip: Authentic content is like chocolate cake, it makes everything better. Share fun, relatable content like behind the scenes videos or funny B-roll footage so your audience can get to know the people behind the brand.
